Showers & Baths

Similar, but very different. We had a very busy week again last week, with a lot of school-related functions (and here I was worried about being bored?). Our FFA had the end of the year banquet on Friday night so I spent some time fretting about the rest of the awards getting here (1 got sent to Windom but luckily was overnighted leaving us with only 1 missing...not bad), the kids getting the certificates printed, and officer interviews. I also got out for a bit to have a dinner meeting with the jr high leadership team I am on. And we can't forget about our little softball incident. My co-workers also had a little shower for Charlie. Thursdays after school they always have coffee time, but it was transformed into a little farmyard for Charlie (and there was yummy cake!). Charlie was a rockstar, got passed all around and put on a good performance. He got SO MUCH stuff, clothes, toys, books, and a bumbo-type chair that has a little table & converts into a booster seat later. I think my favorite thing is the swimming trunks though. Here's Charlie with all of his loot from the shower. Charlie made it to the FFA banquet for a little bit, but him and Erik left when the awards part started. A couple of my students had visited in the hospital and took a picture and I was sweating during the powerpoint praying they didn't put that in there (note to self: check powerpoint before they show it to 80 people...) but luckily it did not get in there. Whew! They did have a picture of Charlie on there wrapped up in his cow blanket. Of course he was in there several times because he's always in the pictures now. He was even in the McLeod County Chronicle last week for attending the State Convention. I had to explain to the editor why there was a baby in the picture (there wasn't a picture he WASN'T in). Now onto the baths. He has been fun lately in the tub and has really started splashing around. It's hilarious because his eyes get so big as he's flopping around. I'm sure one day we won't appreciate his splashing abilities when our bathroom is covered in water, but for today it's ok. Here's a little video.
Charlie defenitely lets us know when its nap time. He takes a blanket and pulls it up over his head and is usually out within a couple of minutes. The other day I put him on the couch and everytime I would pull the blanket back he would grab it and pull it back over his head.

Softball tonight!
