Loving: Everything related to cows. He plays farm whenever he plays. He also loves playing with all non-toy items he should not have including but not limited to: plastic bags, boxes, kitchen utensils, paper towels, baby wipes, etc. We are CONSTANTLY redirecting him. He has a much more active imagination than Charlie did and actually does imaginary play. He also loves helping bake or cook.
Hating: Cleaning up! He has always been and continues to be an expert at doing everything but cleaning up. He wanders around or looks busy or just flat out ignores clean up time. Charlie ends up cleaning up about 90% of the toys on a regular basis.
He also hates being told no and being refused snacks and/or no cookies for breakfast on a daily basis.
Eating: He is obsessed with fruit & sugar. He would graze all day if we would let him and he would eat about 1,000 clementines if they were left sitting out (same applies to cookies). He also loves all kinds of berries, oranges and bananas. Veggies are a little more hit or miss. He recently discovered ants on a log and will eat veggies when slathered up with ranch. Green beans and corn are usual victories because they came from our garden. But, like most 3 years old, if given the option he would eat mac & cheese and pizza every single day. He loves condiments: ranch, syrup, ketchup, and "barbie sauce" (BBQ sauce). I should also mention that he is the slowest eater ever. Sometimes it becomes downright painful waiting for him to eat. We try not to rush him but we will all be done and waiting for a half hour before he gets done.
Reading: He loves reading a variety of books and doesn't necessarily have a favorite. It's nice to be able to mix it up after always reading the same ones to Charlie. He doesn't sit for a super long time but he loves reading time. His favorite books are about animals. Last summer we finished his 1,000 books before kindergarten so he will get a new book from the library this spring which I know he'll be excited about. He loves going through my Usborne books and just like Charlie gets ticked when I take them out of the house.
Writing: Nope. He's right handed but not interested in writing.
Drawing: Again, no time for drawing. The closest he gets to drawing is peeling the paper off of crayons. At ECFE he does do a lot of painting and projects.
Doing: Playing farm, giving Daisy treats, Putting stickers on everything, stepping on boxes, climbing on everything, helping change Nora's diapers, "helping" with Nora (being in her face)
We already have a feeling we'll be getting calls from the school for this guy in the future. He'll do fine in class, but on the playground, lunch room...I'm afraid. He loves a challenge and he will do anything for a laugh. If Charlie says, "DO IT LEVI!!!" he will. Usually he'll say "Should I do it, Charlie?" as he's smirking at us. And he usually makes us laugh which makes it even harder to say no.
Talking about: We always thought Charlie talked a lot but Levi might actually talk more. He talks about his Grandpas and the farm constantly. He is always talking about his latest adventures at the farm and likes to retell stories. He is hilarious.
Singing: He sings all day long. He loves the songs we sing before bed every day (choo-choo, abcs, baa baa black sheep, twinkle twinkle and itsy bitsy). He also loves a song we sang at ECFE a few times "I Love My....". Pretty much every other verse is about grandpa but he will include all other family members, Sandy, his baby Alpha, and today also included little oranges and the barn cleaner. He also loves making up words to songs to be silly and get a laugh.
Wearing: He does not care at all about clothes and wears all of Charlie's hand me downs. THey are all pretty much shot after Levi gets through them. He has recently started being able to get dressed by himself and it's so nice!
Watching: Ha! Sometimes I wish he would sit down and watch a show, even for only 10 minutes. He claims his favorite show is Mighty Machines, but he doesn't actually watch it. He still just doesn't care about TV. He does like to watch home videos and of course, funny Shake it Off.
Sleeping: He goes to bed by 8 and most of the winter was sleeping until 7-7:30. Lately he's been getting up more 6:30-7 when Charlie does. Takes a pretty good nap from 1ish-3ish every day. He LOVES his bunk bed and still insists on showing everyone who walks through the door his bunk beds. He is working on potty training overnight so he will wake up many nights to use the bathroom. (Speaking of the potty - he stopped wearing dipaers in July and did a great job potty training. He did great with the addition of Nora a couple of months later and thankfully did not regress. AND, in the past month he has already reached one of my FAVORITE milestones...100% potty independence!!!)
His me-me is still his BFF and when he gets tired (hurt, mad, in trouble, etc) he demands me-me. The blanket is gross but he loves chewing on it and it's been washed so much it's falling apart.
Feelings about family:
He knows the chain of command when it comes to getting his way. He is liking this "stay at home mom" thing as much as me :) He is super good at laying on the guilt whenever Erik has to leave (which makes us all sad) and throws a fit on the very rare occasion I leave him. He loves giving hugs & kisses. He likes Charlie and is really interested in Charlie's life (like what they did at preschool). They typically get along fairly well but we already have some "you're not going to be my best friend anymore" sometimes. he is also obsessed with Nora. I think it's common to worry about how the baby will adjust when they're not the baby any more and I definitely had those worries, but sometimes he likes her a little too much - just always in her face, touching her face, climbing on her carseat, etc. She takes it pretty well. He also likes talking about his grandmas, aunts, uncles & cousins. I think far and away though, GRANDPAs (both of them) are his favorite. The grandpa talk is just nonstop.
3rd Birthday Interview: I was really impressed with how well he answered the questions. He didn't hesitate much with the answers. I remember Charlie answering several questions with colors when he didn't know what I was asking him.
