An "Udder" Birthday x 2

Birthday week for the boys has come and gone. We had a fun & busy week! Starting with Charlie's birthday on 2/25, we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast.

The birthday boy headed off to school but the rest of the fam joined him later for a snack time. His teacher invited Levi to sit down for snack, too. Of course, he had to sit by the loud/extra friendly kid who wanted to be 1" from Levi's face (maybe now he knows how Nora feels, haha). Charlie brought oreos, blackberries and halos for snack.

We went out for lunch, took naps and then he got to open a couple of presents. He got these magformers and he is obsessed with them! He went through the book and did all of them right away.  The boys played outside for awhile and we finished the birthday off with supper & cupcakes. Then dad headed out to SD and we went to bed :)

Saturday was Levi's turn. He & I made apple muffins for breakfast. He got a garbage truck and a Mickey Mouse backpack.

After naps, we met up with our friends to go bowling. They didn't have ramps so Levi had a tough time getting much speed but they had a lot of fun. Afterwards we found a little bar in town to grab supper. We heard it had a separate bar & dining area but it was pretty much all bar but it worked out fine.

Sunday was party day. This video outlines Levi's plans for his party from early February.
Yes, an udder cake is what he wanted. And he never swayed from that decision. Despite not finding a ton of ideas to use as guides on Pinterest (no idea why?!?!), we managed to make an udder cake to satisfy him.  It was definitely a different request.  Charlie wanted a tractor cake. As usual, the boys and I made all of the cakes and provided the vision and then left Erik to decorate.  We made a total of 4 cakes over the week of all different shapes/sizes to have enough to build these two cakes. The tractor cake was cool, but the udder cake was the talk of the party.

We kept the food simple, just cooking a turkey and serving turkey sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, green bean casserole, fruit salad and veggies.  The boys got some fun new games to get us through the rest of winter but Levi's favorite present by far was a new dipper. I don't think I've ever seen him so excited about something. He immediately demanded we go find his Big Sandy cow from the car so he could dip her. He pulled out his barn and his toy milkers, got wipes out of the bedroom and was milking away. He even wanted to go put on pants with pockets so he could hang his new dipper from his pants.  The dipper has hardly left his side since then. He has went to bed with it and slept with it under his arm. Weird! But he really does love dipping the cows when he goes to the farm.

It's so fun celebrating 2 birthdays at once! And it makes things much easier only planning 1 party.
