His ability to follow directions is pretty good & he understands so much. He will go find his shoes and jacket when asked (or if he just wants to go outside), brings books over to read, & will basically go anywhere we ask him to. We've also started expecting him to help clean up the toys, especially since he is probably responsible for dragging/dumping out 80% of the stuff. He also will point to his nose when asked. It seems he has discovered how to put his finger in his nose & he spends a lot of time practicing that. He has also figured out that there are little suckers at the grocery store. I don't remember exactly when Charlie figured this out, but I'm thinking it was way past 2. Of course Charlie usually gets one (and it's usually a process because I make him ask nicely & say it loud enough for them to hear) so Levi gets one too.
He is a pretty social little guy. At the wedding last weekend, he wandered up the photographer & put his arms around her legs & stood there for a couple of minutes before going on his way. He definitely still prefers his mama (& mama doesn't mind!), especially when he is over tired. At Cheri's he runs into the play room with Charlie & there's nothing better than watching him fly around the corner at night.
I'm not sure what words he picked up on this month but he comprehends way more than he says. And he still just uses "mahhh" for about everything & we're just supposed to figure out what he means I guess :) He also says' meow' for kitty & 'sssss' for snake. His favorite words are definitely "MOM" and "oh oh" He babbles constantly and the yelling/screeching/screaming makes my ears ring sometimes. He is loud & bossy even if he doesn't talk :)
Levi is becoming more of a picky eater. Meats are touchy with him sometimes. If it's mixed with something he will pick through and avoid it as much as possible and sometimes will spit it out. He is really into dipping things but usually just sucks the condiments off & then re-dips. I really think if he could just eat bread and fruit all day long he would. He also is starting to bang on the fridge for food or his cup, which is lovely. The biggest benefit of Charlie not liking peanut butter was that when I didn't want to share my food, I would just make something with peanut butter. Well, Levi loves peanut butter, so nothing is safe. He spits food out a lot & just continues to be extremely messy all of the time.
He is sleeping from around 7pm to 6:00-6:30ish. We have gotten into a new routine of reading a couple of books and then he will let me rock him for just a little bit & then he goes right into his crib. Those couple of minutes he sometimes lets me rock him are just the best. He continues to a babble for quite awhile and if he does cry, it's for just a few seconds. At home he is taking 2 naps and in the afternoon he almost always wakes up after 1/2 hour but will usually fall back to sleep for another hour. At Cheri's, he's still getting by with just 1 nap but he is a bear by supper time from playing so hard all day.
| no idea where all of this drool is coming from since he's done teething. so gross. |
| that look -- Yikes. |
He has really started having a problem with taking baths. He screams the entire time & usually stays in there for about 1 minute. I think he would rather "explore" in the bathroom. We also have to watch him closely because he loves throwing things in the garbage (and usually he finds something else fun to take back out) & in the toilet.
Fun tricks: Standing on his head, trying to do a sommersault, copying everything Charlie does, dancing, trying to jump
