Charlie is scared of thunder. Since it's been storming like crazy here for a few days we have had some long nights. I don't like seeing him scared and the last thing I want is for him to be scared to sleep in his room so we're trying to work through it. Monday night was probably the worst night of sleep I have had since Levi was born....
Midnight - Charlie wakes up screaming. He has a fun trick where he gets so worked up he makes himself throw up even though I'm right there. After taking off his clothes I go downstairs to get clean clothes for myself & he crawls back into bed and falls asleep so I leave him. In the morning I ask him what was wrong and he says "Charlie's cold." So I'm pretty sure he was too hot and woke up since it was really hot upstairs.
I no more than laid back down and Levi was awake. I bring him down & he would not settle back down and go to sleep. I finally got up and fed him (he has not eaten during the night for 2 months) & around 2 we're all sleeping again. As I drift off I hear the thunder off in the distance.
3:00am - BOOM! Instantly followed by Charlie screaming and running down the hall. I brought him down & tried to make room by putting Levi in the bassinet (he's waaaayyy to big!) and Charlie is back to sleep right away. There is a warning out for our area so I listen to the storm for awhile, soon it's cancelled and around 3:45 I go back to sleep.
4:45 - Levi gets sick of banging around in the bassinet & is up again. Charlie has not moved so I put Levi in bed too and he goes back to sleep.
5:30 - alarm goes off. UGH. When I got to work I learned that the worst of this storm had went south of us & many of our coworkers had down trees and lots of hail damage. I am so thankful we did not get that.
I was so happy they both slept all night last night. At least I did, so if either of them were up, I never heard them & they went back to sleep on their own. There were more storms predicted for last night but they fizzled out.
