"Real" Food

I am officially mad at summer. It's HALF over. Not fair. It's going way too fast. OK, no more complaining.

Back tracking a bit, we had some college friends that live close over during the 4th of July. Charlie was all funned out and fell asleep at the table. We have fun laughing at him.
On the 4th, we decided to give Charlie some cereal. The doctor had said we could try at any time and we finally got around to it. The first couple of servings were very runny and he ate it, but he didn't seem to like it and would give us a pretty funny face. By now he is a pro though and loves it. Tonight he was grabbing at the spoon and he ate a lot!

This was the 1st night: "What is that stuff?"


Last week I attended a conference for Ag teachers. Conference is a great time to learn, share ideas with others, and kind of get rejuvenated for the upcoming school year. Since it was in Plymouth this year I just went in for 2-days. One of my besties always lets me shack up with her at these fun events and then we stay up way to late gossipping while everyone else parties it up. I checked out of the conference early to race back home, sleep and then get up and head down to SE MN. Erik had a meeting close to my parents so we took advantage of the "free ride". Charlie was entertained all weekend of course. Saturday we helped Tyler walk his sheep (yes, we exercise the 4-H lambs, just like dogs, by walking them down the road on halters) and helped him work with his calves. Charlie spent the afternoon with Grandma while mom and dad attempted to help unload hay. It was a lot more tiring than I remembered. Between the 3 of us we also attended a baby shower & a bridal shower on Sunday before finally getting back home. Whew, another whirlwind week/weekend.

Charlie is working on getting the kinks worked on with his laugh. Right now he kind of snorts out through his nose but it's there. And he's really starting to copy things we do. He still doesn't care about rolling over but tonight he got himself from his back up onto his side so maybe he'll roll from back to front soon?
