Baptism

We had Charlie's baptism last Sunday. I was hoping that if we did it soon he would sleep through the whole thing. My hopes came true, he slept through the entire service and even saved his major meltdown until everyone had left. We had lunch at our house after church, it got pretty full by the time we packed in all of the grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles!

Charlie with us and his sponsors, Aunt Tracy and Uncle Ryan

Charlie wore the baptismal gown that I wore. His Great Grandpa & Grandma Evers bought the gown for me in Germany. Great Grandma is still mad that she didn't buy a blue slip to go underneath (she only got the pink one) so Grandma Kappers made a blue one and it worked just fine. Here's Charlie with Great Grandpa & Grandma Evers.

Great Grandpa & Grandma Hupf - sick of pictures and of the gown :) Random fun fact - Erik and Grandma Hupf have the same birthday. Charlie shares a birthday with two of our cousins, Joshua & AJ!

Much happier with some food & no more gown. I was sure Grandpa Kappers was going to take him home with him. Instead, Erik sent them home with a full bag of nasty diapers.

Another highlight of the weekend: Grandma Kappers & Uncle Tyler came up on Saturday night to help us get ready for baptism. Erik & I decided to go out for supper & leave Charlie with them so we headed into Chanhassen for some BWW! Grandma & Tyler had fun babysitting and it was nice to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

  1. What a relief that he was so good during baptism...but you know what I've been told a million times? A crying baby usually bothers the parents more than other people - most other people understand and can ignore the wails. :)
