Nora - 9 months

Nora Nora. 9 whole months. Been out as long as she was in ;) These might be my new favorite pictures of her.

The biggest news for the month is that I am now considering Nora in the sleeping thru the night camp!!!!!! Yay!!!!! At least she is pretty consistently sleeping all night. Of course she likes to make sure I'm not getting too comfortable sleeping all night long. She goes to bed around 9pm and will generally sleep until anywhere between 5:30-7:30am. Depending on when she wakes up, she might go right back to sleep or she might be up for the day. She's also ready for a nap around 10am and will sleep for less than an hour. Then she will take a longer nap after the boys go down in the afternoon. And depending on the duration of the morning and afternoon nap, she might also need a quick power nap in the evening to make it to bed time. By far she is on the least structured schedule of the kids, probably mostly because she is home all day and not in daycare (yet). There is also still some bedtime drama and her basically refusing to give in and fighting until the bitter end. But sleeping thu the night. HALLELUJAH.

She eats. A lot. And everything. Except for milk from a bottle of course. But she loves everything she tries. Her favorites are chicken, green beans, and cheese but she also enjoys blueberries, carrots, pancakes, spaghetti, yogurt, cottage cheese, peaches, pears, egg yolks mixed with applesauce (ick) and well...she likes everything.  There may or may not be grunting as she shovels in her favorites and she is always smacking her lips when she's eating. 

Still enjoys spitting. All of the time. She is very close to waving and likes looking at herself in the mirror to practice. Levi is also working really hard to teach her to clap and play peek-a-boo. 

This month also brought 4 new teeth. First, #3 & #4 came on the bottom, followed by a top one and the other middle top one just broke thru. She looked kind of funny with 4 teeth on the bottom and none on the top. I don't think this is the "normal" sequence for teeth to come in? So far, teething doesn't seem to bother her. Not even a lot of drool.

We haven't had her 9 month appointment yet so I don't know what her stats are but I think it's safe to say she's likely still at the top of the growth chart. She can still wear 12 month dresses but any sort of outfit really should be 18 months. Any 12 month shirts leave her belly sticking out. There are plenty of 18 month pants/shorts that are also very snug so we're thankful for summertime because she lives in dresses and rompers. 

First trip to the town pool this week. She's also been to the neighbor's pool a couple of times. She loves to splash & kick in the water. And this is her 18 month swimsuit.

Nora's getting active! Based on her current movements, I'm guessing she will skip over the army crawl. She gets up on all 4's from a sitting position and then will push herself back up to sitting. She is able to get around by just kind of pivoting around on her rear end. Her favorite toys are blocks, a baby doll and the remote. The boys are super thrilled about her starting to get in the middle of their farming operations. She still has little to no interest however, in rolling over or standing up. She will at least bear weight on her feet while holding her for a bit now. But mostly, she will just pull her feel up to her butt and hang there. I would say she pulls herself up to her knees, so she will figure it out and then she will be a lot harder to keep track of.

Other things she loves: watching Charlie & Levi, swinging, reading books, stroller rides and playing with the boys' toys. She also loves Patty. She squeals with excitement whenever she comes over and we are working on being gentle with the kitty. She is not as thrilled and appreciative of Daisy's attempts for attention. 

She's starting to pull off headbands and has had enough of the stickers. The 9 month sticker was already in pretty rough shape from a certain brother anyways. It was fun while it lasted!
