I decided since my husband is more like a roommate (translation he's gone a lot for work) I would start a blog. I try not to complain too much because i'm thankful he has a job, especially one he's good at and really enjoys. Plus, I'm sure he gets sick of me complaining all of the time too and i know he gets sick of being away (from me that is!). Dont' worry, I don't intend to make this a place where I pour out my heart and soul about the horrible things about teaching and life. Instead, I hope to make it a place where i can keep people updated on our busy lives every once in awhile, with the occassional crazy story. I must admit, our friends who we don't get to see enough of anymore have a blog for their little girl and I defenitely look forward to reading it. (HINT: Dee don't stop posting on Sundays!!) While our life isn't nearly as exciting, our dog provides enough entertainment to go around.
Well, spring break is over. Easter break is over. It is now full steam ahead until the end of my first year as a teacher. There's only 7 weeks left of school...if it were only that easy. FFA is at one of the craziest and busiest times right now with compeitions, State Convention, and other end of the year festivities. Just like everyone else feels i'm sure, there are not enough hours in the day.
This trimester has been my favorite so far. It's amazing how they say (sorry I don't know who "they" are) that each year gets easier. I have been able to tell just over the course of one year. Classes that i'm teaching for a second or third time are much easier than at first. The thought of the next day does not completely overwhelm me :) Right now i'm teaching Intro to welding, 8th grade Ag (favorite!!!), MN Wildlife and Advanced welding. Advanced welding has defenitely been the most challenging. I think every day I announce, "Hey guess what? You need to think!" It's been fun watching them realize they need to have math, reading and other skills to complete this project. It's also been fun practicing up and showing off my mad welding skills. haha.
Alright, that's all for today. Hopefully i'll follow through on this...
