We had to squeeze out as much fun as possible on our last weekend before school starts! Friday I took the kids to the State Fair. Grandma was chaperoning 4-H weekend so I just had to get us from the bus to the cattle barn. It wasn't super easy, but it wasn't too bad.
Stopped by the Miracle of Birth Center to check out Ertl's butterhead.
About all Levi remembered from the fair last year was MINI DONUTS. He didn't stop talking about them until he got some.
Grandma bought them a sheet of tickets for the rides. It was much more complicated this year as Charlie didn't want to go on the smaller rides and Levi wasn't ready for the bigger/faster rides. He was all excited for the big (kiddie midway) slide until he got to the top. Then he was terrified. After seemingly FOREVER they used up all of their tickets.
We didn't get to see Tyler much since he was busy doing his interviews for 4-H.
Levi spent a lot of time petting Tyler's heifer. And running into the straw pack on both sides of the aisle.
He ate a lot of cookies. And a footlong pronto pup. And the mini donuts. And yogurt and who knows what else.
As always, she was a good sport (both of them).
Everyone was tired by the time we got home. The 2 little ones fell asleep in the car for the hour long drive home. Then Levi threw himself on the garage floor and screamed "I WANT TO GO HOME" for a good 10 minutes. We fed them some supper (how on earth were they still hungry?) and then Erik and I husked 130 ears of sweet corn to process & freeze. Good times!!!
Yesterday we went to the MN Landscape Arboretum to check out the Lego sculptures. We had never been there before. There was so much to see and one could definitely spend days there exploring. The lego sculptures were pretty awesome!

Kudos to whomever has the patience to spend 250+ hours and thousands of legos to make these happen. Crazy!
