Getting ready for Christmas!

We are getting in the holiday spirit around here. Charlie and I made a list of things to do that include lots of fun activities in and out of the house. We got our Advent calendar and the boys are having fun adding ornaments every night. We aren't set on doing an activity every day, our list is just more good brainstorming for when we need something to do.

Last week, I only had to watch the extra 3 kids on Monday and it was kind of (ok, really!) nice to just have my own herd to keep track of. They are really good kids and I don't mind watching them, but life was sure easier with just 2-3 of my own in the mornings. Even when the biggest 2 are at preschool, I cant take the other 4 anywhere (not that I would do it anyways) so it was nice to get out of the house a bit.

On Thursday morning, we headed to a gingerbread house make & take at ECFE while Charlie was at school. They had an evening session too and Erik was going to take Charlie but Levi had so much fun he wanted to go again so we all went. We had a good time and the best part of ECFE is that we can make the mess somewhere besides our house!

Levi was much more interested in eating his gingerbread house decorations.

Yesterday we went and got our tree. We went to Turks Trees up by Litchfield which is where we have went for the last few years. I think we found the perfect tree - maybe the best one we've ever had!

He wanted that one.
Our tree in it's natural state
A tractor & wagon pulled our tree up to the yard. It was cold but of course we had to ride.
Watching the shaker - definitely a highlight.
Santa was visiting, too. Levi was super interested in him. He wants a "Santa present"...whatever that is.
Charlie wasn't interested in Santa at all but eventually did agree to a picture.
Right after I convinced them to stand by the reindeer, he snorted super loud and scared them.
We got the tree up and only broke 1 ornament in the process. Obviously we were pretty selective about what we put on there. We have so much decor and nowhere to put it :(

Photo session = OVER!
