writing this post today while sitting in the clinic doing the 3 hour glucose test. BLAHHHHH!!!
Due Date: October 12, 2014.
Symptoms: lower back pain! A couple of days it was really, really bad but most days it's manageable. Anything that involves a lot of sitting or sleeping in any bed besides mine is not good. I just got done with my 28 wk apt and I was measuring small at 25 weeks (certainly doesn't feel that way).
What's different this time: One of my biggest worries was being pregnant in the summer. It has been the most amazing summer weather wise for a preggo thus far (although today is supposed to be awful, I can't complain as it's almost the end of July!). I bought 2 long skirts & found some cheap athletic shorts from Target and those items are pretty much my wardrobe. For the record, I couldn't even tell you the last time I bought skirts/dresses, much less 2 of them...
Cravings/Aversions: I don't want to think about food right now since I haven't eaten for 14 hours and have another 3 hours to go :)
Sleep: had my fair share of nights where I couldn't sleep again. Have I mentioned how frustrating it is? I still take naps almost daily although now I only need maybe 15-20 minutes to feel more refreshed.
I miss: sleeping through the night
I am looking forward to: Erik has PTO (almost) all week so we both have a list of little projects we'd like to get done around the house. I'm in the nesting state where I am annoyed/disgusted with how dirty things are but haven't necessarily gotten the motivation to take care of it. Instead, my nesting is focused more on organizing & completing little projects that if not completed now will likely be put off indefinitely. Within a couple of weeks I know his workload is really going to ramp up so we're looking forward to a nice, relaxing week.
Best moment this week: After the 26 week post, Levi really took off with the potty training! We were out and about one day and his diaper stayed dry the entire day so that's when I decided to officially put in effort with him. He has done so great and only had a couple of tiny little accidents the first couple of days. He's still in diapers for nap & night which is fine by me, but he has been rocking it. Unlike Charlie, he is HIGHLY motivated by treats and rewards so after a couple of days of him going every 2 minutes so he could have a treat we moved to a combo sticker/candy method. Now he's able to hold it for a good amount of time. I still remind him frequently but he is going by himself too (and he really loves going outside)!
I'm stressing about: I would really, really, REALLY like to pass this 3 hour glucose test. With Levi I skipped the 1 hour test & was pretty shocked to pass the 3 hour one but this time I was feeling confident that I would pass the 1 hour one (LOL). The nurse told me it was 150 (139 is the cutoff) but the dr this morning told me it was more like 180 so I don't know....I just would love to avoid diabetic ed and the additional appointments. I would also like to avoid a gigantor baby so if that's what needs to be done that will be fine, I would just prefer to not mess with it. It will be much more challenging to coordinate than when I was childless the first time around!
Milestones: Last trimester! It's going so fast/feels like I've been pregnant forever haha
Movement: I don't notice much movement during the day because I'm rarely sitting still but as soon as I stop at the end of the day baby goes crazy. Lots of tumbles & rolls starting around 9pm and lasting through the night. Hopefully baby isn't too confused about sleeping at night come October!
I'm going to replace the It's a ... question because it's still the same. The baby prep question will maybe make me feel semi-productive.
Baby Prep: Since Levi has been diaper free going on 2 weeks, I got out all of the diapers & did a good wash & strip on all of them. They spent a couple of the days in the sun and are now all sparkly clean for baby poo. We'll be packing them away for a few months. It is so weird to not worry about diapers at all after almost 4.5 years! I'll take the break!
2.5 hours & 3 more blood draws to go!!!
