Thoughts from Charlie

I need to get better about writing down the things that come out of this kids mouth!

"Dad, Mom's not doing a very good job today" -- Realized I forgot $$ after bundling everyone up and getting to town to buy groceries

"mom, you can hold the dust pan by yourself. You're a big girl!"

"Hey! I'm talking to you!"

"Just be patient."

"Tractor books are for boys. They are not for girls."

A convo when we took a different route to town one day.
m- "We're going this way because the roads are really slippery."
c - "yeah, the roads are slippery. then we will go in the ditch. that would not be good."
m - "that we would be bad."
c - "yeah, then we would need a rope. then a big truck will pull us out. yeah, that'd be an idea."

"That's a super big problem" -- from Super Why

"Look dad! Mom is a princess!" -- when looking at our wedding pictures

And many people dont' believe us when we talk about how particular Charlie can be...
--He will notice if you flip his pillow over
--He will notice if you cover him up with the wrong part of his blanket, even if it is completely dark in his room.
--A few days ago he moving his little chairs all over the house & apparently I put them back in the wrong spot because today he noticed and scolded me, "NO, the pig chair does not go here. The cow one goes here."
--The latest thing is the Valentines card we got him. It has Jake on it & he has it memorized. He puts it on his dresser at night & takes it in his backpack to daycare on days he goes. Best $2.99 spent on a card ever.

It's so hard to keep up with all of his rituals sometimes! Luckily, Levi is pretty go with the flow.

  1. Love the stories. Charlie is such a smart boy and growing up way too fast. I'll keep the pillow thing in mind next time he stays here. Love, Grandma K

  2. We also have the same cow vs. pig chair placement discussion at our house. Funny how they notice the smallest details!
