Christmas Eve day we opened our presents at home. We were pretty boring with clothes, an ABC book made on Shutterfly, DVD player for the car, and sheets for the big boy bed.
After being greeters at church (Charlie talked the ENTIRE time and said "poop" at least 50x) we headed over to Erik's mom & dad's. It got pretty late by the time they got done with chores so we could eat supper & open presents but Charlie did great considering he is usually in bed by 7:30.
I made Erik take a picture of me Christmas Eve because we took one when I was pregnant with Charlie so I could compare. Obviously, I'm much bigger this time around.

Christmas Eve on 2009 & 2011 at exactly the same point of each pregnancy. |
Santa probably brought the favorite present this year...Pampered Chef spoons. "Poons" (all eating utensils, shovels, etc) are currently Charlie's favorite. He got really excited as he pulled 3 fancy new spoons out of his stocking. Other than that Santa brought a couple of movies for the DVD player.
We packed up and headed down to Great Grandpa & Grandma Evers' for the day. It was definitely different with having Josh there this year. Charlie had a good nap in the car and was in full entertainment mode all day long. He danced, stood on his head, handed out most of the presents, opened a lot of presents, and loved listening & clapping to Great Grandpa's harmonica.
Then we headed down to Spring Valley, waited for chores to get done and opened more presents. Uncle Tyler got him a drum & thought it was so funny...it lasted about 5 minutes before it was broken. It's still fun to play with though. The 2011 toy that has gotten the most play so far has been a wooden train from Grandpa & Grandma.
Monday morning Erik & I made some returns in Rochester & then we had lunch with my cousin, his wife & little guy who were up from Colorado. Then we headed home because Erik had to work Tuesday. It was yet another quick trip south but we were worn out. While Erik worked the rest of the week, I spent a good 2-3 days getting Charlie over his Christmas hangover & back on his normal schedule. It's amazing how scheduled he really is (I really like it!). He did really well considering he was several hours behind on sleep over the course of a few days.
I've heard that the 2d pregnancy is always a bit bigger...but you still look great! Glad to hear that you guys had a great Christmas. Hope everything else is going well!
