13.5 months

Surprisingly, I did a really good job at writing monthly updates in Charlie's baby book. I realized that after 12 months, it skips to year 2. I guess I will have to get better at posting on here so that we can remember some of the highlights. Of course there are still places in the book for major milestones, but I'm already getting fuzzy on some of Charlie's firsts.

We've had lots of goodbyes here in the past month & Charlie is continuing to be less baby, more toddler every day. A few weeks ago we finally switched out the infant carrier for convertible seats. They are so spacious & Charlie enjoys sitting up a bit more. He falls asleep on almost every car ride now. I was happy to keep him in the carrier for over a year, but he was getting way too heavy to lift into the truck.

A couple of weeks ago Charlie stopped taking a bottle during the day & just had one before bed. Wednesday was the last night he took a bottle. During what turned into being his last bottle, he had some too small jammies on, with his belly hanging out he looked pretty funny. We packed away the bottles today & are so excited to not have to wash them anymore!

Charlie still loves watching Daisy. Every time he hears her bark, he takes off for the entry way, stands by the window & pounds/pants at her.
Another big goodbye here was to disposable diapers. We started using cloth diapers a few weeks ago & have been very satisfied so far.  We had been battling major wetness issues during the night since early December. Charlie was waking up often during the night soaking wet & almost every morning involved wet jammies & sheets (despite having "overnight" diapers on). Since making the switch, he has stayed dry every night. I think he's also sleeping better, which means we're sleeping better. Daycare jumped on board with the cloth as well.  Our diaper stash is almost all solid colors, but I did get sucked in by this camo diaper :)

We have been dealing with a lot of curious behavior around here. We can't take our eyes off of Charlie for a second or he'll be into something.  He's also standing by himself a lot, I think walking is in the very near future. One of his favorite toys is a Noah's Arc with 2 of every animal. Charlie grabs for the pairs every time. (Baby Genius???)

Here's some of Charlie's mischief over the past few weeks. *Erik accidently dumped the Cheerios out. Charlie was on clean-up control.

In not-Charlie news, Erik said goodbye to glasses on Friday when he had Lasik done. He's been laying low this weekend but all appears to be healing well.
