Easter

Last weekend Charlie had many firsts once again. Friday afternoon we packed up, picked Erik up from the airport and headed down to Spring Valley for his first visit to Grandpa & Grandma Kappers along with his first night away from home. I was very worried about him freaking out and screaming a lot but we stopped at Great Grandma Hupf's on the way down for a break and he slept the rest of the time. Whew!

There was no shortage of people willing to entertain Charlie throughout the weekend. While Grandma, Grandpa, Tyler, Brooke and Rissa spent time with Charlie, Erik got to play around outside and drive tractor for awhile.

Sunday morning I had to break my own rule of not waking a sleeping baby to get to church in time. Charlie was great in church, didn't make a peep. He did discover his future Aunt Molly's long hair and kept himself entertained for awhile with that. Of course he had to be all dressed up in his Easter outfit. And of course, as we were ready to head off to Great Grandpa & Grandma Evers' Charlie decided to poop all over it. Grandma washed it and hung it outside to dry so we could get pictures later.

4 generations

After a busy day of being passed around and around (it's a lot of work being a baby when there hasn't been any babies around for almost 13 years), Charlie was wore out. This turned out to be a good thing as he slept the whole way home. I was so relieved, it could have been a very long ride.

Here's a picture Jaclyn took at his shower the weekend before. Gosh he's cute.

  1. Love the generation picture - we were able to get one with my last surviving grandparent just 5 months before she passed away. It's priceless!
