I can't believe I didn't write anything down about Nora when she turned 3. Actually wait, I can totally believe that I didn't, but it makes me sad. All I remember of her at age 3 is that she was freshly potty trained and had stopped napping when we moved in August. And she was awesome (still is)!
So here's Nora at age 4. Her & I have 4 afternoons at home a week while Waylon is napping so we WILL get an interview done....maybe
Loving: Preschool! She is so sad on Tuesdays & Fridays when she doesn't have school. She thinks that since i'm going, she should be able to just come with. It's all she talks about at home but I hear she's pretty quiet at school. She also loves Daniel Tiger, doing art, reading, and playing babies.
Hating: She does not like the barn. She also does not like trying to go to the bathroom for bed. It is a battle every night.
Eating: Nora is a pretty good eater. She loves fruit, pizza, mac & cheese, hotdogs...pretty much the standard preschooler menu. She likes to help bake and she definitely has a sweet tooth. On the days she has school, we usually pack her a lunch and then she sits in my room and eats it while I finish up my work.
Reading: Always down for reading, her favorite right now is Daniel Tiger Stories. Last year when she was 3 I remember her favorite was "very hungry caterpillar"). She likes a variety of books and loves when she gets to pick out books at the library. She also likes to read her favorite stories.
Writing: She can write her name.
Drawing: She loves doing art projects - drawing, coloring, cutting, gluing, painting. She's not drawing anything in particular but she does love doing projects.
Doing: Playing with her babies, sorting things into bags or boxes, playing pretend, checking on the chickens
Talking about: She talks all of the time. She talks about a few kids at preschool (who coincidentally have the same names as people in our family), she talks a lot about what she's doing with her babies. She is the best storyteller and has the best facial expressions, hand gestures, eye rolls, and so much emotion in her stories.
Singing: Nora loves jamming to Alexa, mostly to country songs. She loves when we do "song videos". Her favorite song is..."Flatliner"....
Wearing: Nora loves picking out her outfits and making sure even her socks are coordinating. She loves Hanna play dresses that were hand me downs and she loves leggings. She has been able to dress herself and has picked out her own clothes since she was 2. She also loves wearing boots. She is much more well dressed than me. I very rarely give imput into her choices and she comes up with some great combinations!
Watching: Daniel Tiger is her favorite by far. She also likes Wild Kratts & Elmo.
Sleeping: We stick to an early bedtime here and everyone is more than ready when 7pm rolls around. We typically head to bed around 7pm and do some reading with lights out for Nora between 7:15-7:30. Her wake up time varies but its usually between 6:30-7, depending on if they boys wake her up or not. She very rarely naps, even stays awake in the car on long trips without napping. Occassionally on her one full day a week at daycare she might take a short nap. I can always tell because she won't be ready for bed at 7 those nights. She usually stays in her own room all night but there was a phase recently of her crawling in with me at various times of the night several nights a week. I think now with school she is just exhausted and sleeps all night.
Feelings about family:
Nora loves everyone and gets along with everyone. Charlie & Levi can get annoyed with her and be kind of mean sometimes but usually they can plan play nice together. Levi can be downright AWFUL to her one minute but then later they can play SO NICE together for long periods of time. It depends 100% on Levi's mood. Nora & Waylon also get along really well. She also is very into her new cousin, Olivia and is just "so, so sad that she wasn't born on her birthday." :)
