8 months already! Just the other day I was thinking about how Nora still seems like such a little baby. She isn't very mobile and is so content to just sit around and watch everyone. But then, when she's sitting around in just a diaper, I realize that she is definitely not a tiny baby. She looks so big! And she's so fun! There is just something about this baby! We are all just a tiny bit obsessed with her.
She is still not consistently sleeping thru the night. She's getting awfully close, I think. She has been going to bed around 9pm and then usually wakes up between 10:30-12 needing to be burped and/or rocked. Sometimes she won't settle down without being fed but most times she will and then she will sleep until around 5:30-6am. After nursing she will usually go right back to sleep for another hour or 2. So, really not bad. It would be nice if she would cut out that first wake up because it always seems to happen after we've fallen asleep. She has also taken a couple of naps in her crib and put herself to sleep a couple of times. Baby steps!
We moved her out of the baby carrier and into a convertible seat in my car. In Erik's car she is still using the bucket seat because I'm too lazy to configure the car seats to all fit in there and she doesn't ride in there very often anyways (except for this week when my car has been in the shop). Man, she's heavy in that thing though. Of course since she's out of the baby carrier, that means she gets to ride in the carts at the store or in the Ergo. She is a big fan of both.
She loves eating real food, too! She sits in the high chair and bangs on the tray waiting for goodies and has eaten everything we've offered without resistance. She has added blueberries, raspberries, pancakes, cheese, tortilla shells, chicken, hamburger and much more to her list of favorites this month. When we're out and about, I put some frozen purees in a reusable food pouch and she is really good at getting food out of them. Much easier and cleaner than trying to spoon feed. For a bit I was thinking she was starting to lose a little bit of her rolls but one look of her in just a diaper and it's quite clear that she still has plenty of rolls.
The first week in June I had to go back to work for the week. The first day Grandma somehow got her drink a bottle in the morning and we were all pretty shocked. It didn't last long though as she refused all bottle offerings after that one. Luckily either Grandma or dad were able to just run her in so I could feed her once. By the time school starts up in the fall, she should be able to get plenty from a sippy cup during the day and this whole bottle thing won't even be an issue. But sheesh, this laid back baby sure is stubborn when it comes to a.) bottles and b.) going to bed. Other than that, we both survived this separation, even though I was very grumpy about it.
Nora still just has her 2 bottom teeth and the next 2 bottom ones are ready to poke through. This seems out of order to me? She loves chewing on things, especially her fingers.
She still doesn't move around too much. She just sits and watches, leans way (way, way) forward to grab whatever she wants and pushes herself back up to sitting. She will also lean forward far enough to actually lay on her belly, but her one leg gets stuck. It doesn't bother her, but it sure looks uncomfortable!!! She bounces up and down and when on the hard floor, she manages to scoot herself around that way. Another thing that she is getting better at is standing on her feet. She usually just dangles her legs and has no desire to stand. Such a change after our super mobile/into everything middle child (some things never change with that one).
And well....Nora + Levi is a work in progress. He just shows his affection in a much more physical manner. She would be fine with him if he would just play with her but he is just Mr. Too Close all of the time wanting to hold her in his lap and trying to move her around. Still learning that nobody likes you being 1" from their face at all times.

It's easy to tell that these two have quite the sibling bond.
So adorable. Awesome pics too. Nora is such a little princess!
